Supported browsers and devices
LandInsight runs a large, detailed interactive map, so it works best on a modern computer and an up-to-date browser.
Browsers
We recommend Google Chrome for the best experience. We also support the two most recent versions of Safari, Firefox and Microsoft Edge. Older browser versions are not supported, so may have issues.
Whichever browser you use, it must support WebGL and have hardware acceleration turned on.
Devices
There are no strict minimum requirements, but a modern device will give you the smoothest experience. As a guide, we recommend:
Mac: a Mac Mini or MacBook Pro
Windows: a laptop such as a Dell XPS with 16GB of RAM and a dedicated graphics card
Fixing slow loading or lag
If LandInsight feels slow, these are the most common causes:
Internet speed: We recommend a connection of at least 50Mbps, especially in busy offices or homes where many devices share the same network.
System resources: Close any browser tabs you don’t need, along with heavy apps running in the background such as Zoom or Teams. These compete for your computer’s memory and processing power.
Software updates: Keep your operating system, browser and graphics drivers up to date.
Network setup: Virtual machines and VPNs can slow the map down significantly. Strict firewall or antivirus settings can also block the map from loading properly. If you’re on a company network, your IT team may be able to help.
Map not displaying in Chrome
If map layers aren’t showing, or parts of LandInsight aren’t working in Chrome, a browser setting may be blocking your graphics card. To fix this:
Open a new tab, type chrome://flags into the address bar and press Enter.
In the search bar, type Override software rendering list.
Set this option to Enabled.
Click Relaunch when prompted, then reopen LandInsight.
How to report a system issue
If something isn’t working or you see an error message, you can raise a support ticket from inside LandInsight:
Click the ? icon in the top right of your screen and select Start a support chat.
Choose Report a System Issue.
Fill in the details and submit your ticket.
You can then follow your ticket as it moves through these stages:
Submitted → In Progress → Submitted to Product → Waiting on Customer → Resolved
💡 LandTech Tip: The more detail you give us, the faster we can help. A screenshot, the planning reference number or a link to the site in question all make a real difference.
