To make sure you have the best experience possible when using LandInsight, you need to make sure your browser and device are both suitable.

Supported browsers

LandInsight is designed to work on Google Chrome, which means this is the browser we recommend you use - you'll have the best experience when you do.

  • Chrome - latest and last major version (recommended)

  • Safari - latest and last major version (supported)

  • Firefox - latest and last major version (supported)

  • Microsoft Edge - latest and last major version (supported)

Other browsers may work, but we cannot guarantee all features will be working. If your browser isn't supported anymore, getting a new one is really simple and completely free.

Where can I learn more about my browser version?

You can use the what browser am I using website to find out, then come back here for some next steps.

What else does my browser need to support?

A couple of things...

  • It should support WebGL

  • Hardware Acceleration should be enabled

Speak to your IT team if you have concerns about either of these things.

How to upgrade your browser

If you're responsible for upgrading the software on your computer, we'd recommend installing the latest version of Google Chrome. (And if it's someone else's responsibility ask them really nicely - it's a very quick job).

Recommended devices

In the same vein as your browser, it's important to make sure you have a modern device too. LandInsight provides you with a large, rich map. It needs a sufficiently powerful device to run.

Recommended devices

We don't have minimum requirements, but do recommend a modern system to run LandInsight.

Apple

Windows

Mobile

LandInsight will work on mobile devices, but isn't designed with a specific specification in mind. You can use LandInsightGO, our mobile application. It's designed for both iOS and Android and will run optimally on your device.

Resolving performance problems

Internet speed

Ensure your internet speed is fast enough. Bear in mind that the internet speed is shared between devices and applications using that internet connection. You can check your broadband speed using a broadband checker.

In busy households with multiple people working from home, we recommend 50Mbps connections

Too many applications

Applications will share the computers resources, especially memory and CPU. These include messaging applications (such as slack or teams), video calling software such as zoom, or office applications and more.

Reduce the amount of open applications on your device

Too many browser tabs

Browser tabs can be doing work in the background, or holding memory.

Reduce the number of open tabs to the bare minimum

Up to date software

Keeping your operating system, web browser, graphics drivers and other software up to date is important. It can sometimes come with performance improvements, but at minimum it will reduce security risk as latest software comes with latests security patches.

Update your operating system, browser, and graphics drivers

VPN

If you are using a VPN, this can slow traffic down heavily. Sometimes these can be mandated on work devices.

Avoid using the VPN and connect directly through your browser

Virtual Machine

These are often used for larger enterprise companies and sometimes come with severe performance issues.

Avoid using a Virtual Machine to access LandInsight

What else could be causing problems?

If you have a firewall setup, or anti-virus, this can sometimes be a bit to 'keen'. If it begins blocking legitimate requests then this can be problematic. Again, it's worthwhile checking with your IT team on this or letting them see this page.

Can I speak to someone?

Yes. If things still aren't working well, reach out to the team and someone will help you.
