Have you decided to try browsing planning applications based upon their planning boundaries? Great! Please read on...

How do I switch between planning dots and planning boundaries?

You can access the new planning boundaries view using the 'boundaries' tab, in the top right.

When you do so, we'll begin showing selected planning boundaries on the map, as opposed to showing you everything we hold via the dots view.

What do I need to know about planning boundaries?

  • Dot views shows all planning applications that we hold

  • Boundaries view shows applications we have a boundary available for

  • When you select a planning boundary, you are selecting that planning boundary and any intersecting planning boundaries

  • You will then need to select the planning application of interest in the list

  • The selected application will then be highlighted on the map for you

What planning boundary data do you have?

You can read more about what planning application boundary data we hold by reading the planning application data article.

What do the colours of the boundaries mean?

The colours are there to help you quickly identify planning applications of interest to you. They apply to Boundaries in the same way that they applies to Dots. For example, a pink boundary tells you that it falls under the residential category.

Applications that are older will be lighter in colour than those that are more recent. So, a dark pink boundary will appear for a newer residential application.

Don't worry, we don't expect you to memorise this information.

At the bottom left corner of the map, you'll see a Planning Applications Legend. Click this and all the details you need will pop up on your screen whenever you need it.

Where can I leave feedback?

In the planning boundaries beta post thread on the LandTech Community, or via this quick feedback form.
