One of the real benefits of LandInsight is the ability to a make the map your own.

Want to annotate points of interest in or around your sites? What about creating a series of rough building footprints so you can begin to understand the true potential of a site?

Well, now you can through 'annotations'.

Step 1 - Open annotations

Open the annotation tools by clicking the annotations icon.

Step 2 - Create a new annotation

Select the annotation tool you wish to use.

  • A rectangle is great for creating a quick building footprint for your site

  • Polygons can be great for this too, or can even be used to draw out a potential site - you can then choose to 'save as a site'

  • A radius is helpful to highlight a catchment area or area of exclusion (eg. around a pylons

  • Rulers will allow you to measure distances

  • Points of interest and text annotations help you add extra detail to all the above

Step 3 - Annotation details

Once you've finished creating the annotation, you'll see a panel open on the right of the screen. In here you'll be able to access the area and perimeter of the shape you've drawn.

You can change the unit scale by tapping on the highlighted sections on the right. You can switch between imperial and metric as well, but you'll need to do this using the imperial / metric toggle in the explorer

Step 4 - Duplicate an annotation

Want to duplicate your annotation? Click on the three dots in the selection details and select 'duplicate'.

Step 5 - Delete an annotation

Don't need the annotation anymore? Simply click the bin icon to delete it. It'll then disappear from the map for you

Step 6 - Show and hide your annotations

Sometimes you'll want to clear up the map and remove some of your notes. You'll be able to do this through using the 'show / hide annotations feature.
