Welcome to the new and improved explorer!

We think you are going to love the new experience, and in order for you to be able to feel that way we need to get you up to speed on all the great new features.

These improvements should speed up your site sourcing and your ability to build up intelligence on a local area.

  1. Available through a single experience

No more switching between different views of the same layers. You can now toggle everything on and off within a single experience, at speed.

  2. Organised into new groups

Your favourite layers are now organised into more intuitive groups, helping you get to the information you need more quickly.

  3. Reimagined how layers are broken up

You can now get access to flooding, greenbelt, SHLAA, and various other layers at the same level - meaning you don't need to go looking for where these are anymore

  4. Find what you need more quickly

Use the search to find what you need, more quickly.

  5. Dip into the detail for each layer

Want to know what's going on with planning in the local area? Head into the layer, and focus on that layer alone - without distraction.

  6. View active layers only

Don't want to see everything? View only the things you have enabled to clear up the explorer.

  7. Reset to defaults

Want to go back to the beginning? Tap reset to defaults.

  8. Supports future improvements

Now, this one really matters but will take a little imagination. These improvements now open up the opportunity for us to make available custom layers, layer reordering, and many more exciting features - all now made possible due to this new experience.
